Who Makes Copley Better?

May 7, 2024

Every community has its helpers – the ones who quietly go about their business, infusing everything they do with the purpose of improving their community along with the lives of their friends and neighbors.

And Copley Township is no exception.

That’s why the Copley Chamber created the Paul Janos Community Impact Award in 2022, inspired by the man who was President of the Board of Directors from 2016 through 2020 when he lost his battle with cancer. Paul truly embodied the spirit of a helper and made Copley Township a better place for it.

The award is presented during a special Copley Heritage Days event, the Spirits of Copley, which will be on Saturday, August 3rd, this year. After all the daytime festivities of vendors and food trucks and bounce houses (I hear there’s a human hamster ball this year!), the volunteers take an hour to regroup for the Spirits of Copley which begins at 7:00 with good music and adult beverages.

Please mark your calendars so you can come out to enjoy and celebrate this year’s recipient!

In the meantime, if you know someone who has embodied the spirit of a helper and made Copley Township a better place, we would love to hear their story – please consider nominating them for this year’s award.

We hope to say “thank you” to them for doing what they do!

Nominations are due no later than Friday, June 7th, 2024.
