I’ve been thinking a lot lately (marveling, really) about how certain activities and community events just have that “homey” feeling.
Like, being there and doing that thing just makes you feel like you’re right where you need to be, doing what you need to be doing, right in that exact moment.
Like, there’s just no better place in the world than that moment.
I’ve probably been thinking a lot about that because fireworks are one of those events, and I happen to have been talking about fireworks because…
Fireworks are coming back to Copley!
And that’s not something we get to say very often.
In fact, the last time fireworks lit up the Copley sky was during Heritage Day weekend in 2019, when our community celebrated its Bicentennial. Seven years later, Copley Township is giving us yet another reason to look up.
The Copley Community Chamber of Commerce is among the sponsors helping to bring an America 250 fireworks celebration to Copley Community Park this Saturday, and we’re pretty darn stoked about that.
There really is something about sitting in a field full of friends and family, neighbors and strangers, to watch those beautiful bursts of color and light… to feel the sound of every burst in your chest… to watch kids around you play before the show starts, then sit and stare in awe… to lose all thought as you listen to the synchronized oohs and aahs of the crowd…
Something about that just feels like home.
The fireworks will follow the Copley Fire & Rescue Association’s annual Food Truck Festival, giving you good reason to spend an hour or the evening at the park, grab a bite to eat, enjoy the festivities, and then settle in for the show.
We hope to see you there.
Because sometimes, it’s just nice to set everything else aside, look up at the sky, and simply enjoy the show.
