The tents are all down and the signs packed away. The tables are long gone in their trailers.
You’d never know that just a few days ago, the park was filled with music and laughter. Friends and neighbors catching up while kids bounced and climbed and ran, egging each other on to enter the hula hoop contest.
Community events arrive after months of planning, fill a weekend with memories, and then somehow disappear overnight.
But before we all move on to what’s next, we want to say one last, heartfelt thank you.
Thank you to the volunteers, sponsors, businesses, performers, vendors, community partners, and township staff who worked so hard to make Heritage Days possible.
Thank you to everyone who came out to enjoy whatever part of the weekend they could.
And thank you to the people who took a moment to share just a little bit of positivity.
Like the person who wished a volunteer good luck while they were picking up coffee on Saturday morning.
And the person who emailed Saturday evening just to say what a wonderful event it was.
And the person who called a few days later with a question, then made a point to share what a great time they had.
Those moments matter more than you may realize.
Putting together a community event means planning meetings, emails, phone calls, setup days, and sore muscles from head to toe. But the people behind the scenes keep coming back because hearing the laughter and knowing people enjoyed themselves makes every bit of it worthwhile.
We’ll start thinking about next year soon enough. And if you’ve ever considered becoming one of the people behind the scenes, we’d love to have you.
For now, though, we’re simply grateful for another year of memories.
