Can we just take a moment to talk about, well… Copley? I ask because it tends to pop up in my everyday conversations, and I’m often surprised by how much people don’t know.
For instance, we’re not exactly a “little township”. Copley’s population is actually larger than about 95% of Ohio’s townships, and only slightly less than that of Fairlawn and Norton combined!
And did you know our township spans over 20 square miles, making it only slightly smaller than Bath but larger than either Stow or Tallmadge?
Of course, one of the coolest things about Copley is how every corner feels different. We border three distinct cities — Fairlawn, Akron, and Norton — and four townships: Bath, Sharon, and a touch of Wadsworth and Granger at the western corners.
But here’s the best part: Copley isn’t just big in square miles or population. It’s big in heart! That shows up in the community groups that keep us connected. Groups such as:
- Copley Seniors, who are gathering next week, and they’d love to see you there! RSVP by this Saturday to save your seat and enjoy the company.
- Copley Historical Society, who is hosting a Cemetery Tour at Montrose Cemetery this weekend. Don’t miss this chance to walk through local history and hear the stories that shaped our township!
- Copley Heritage Day Committee, who is putting out the call for volunteers! Join us for our next meeting on Tuesday, November 5th and help us shape one of the community’s biggest events of the year.
All this to say…
Whether you’re new to town or just looking to reconnect, there’s a place for you here. Because Copley’s not just a place where we live.
