Every summer, the Copley Community Chamber of Commerce presents the Paul Janos Community Impact Award to a resident who embodies our Past President’s legacy of service, humility, and heart. This year, for the first time, we’re honoring not one, but two extraordinary individuals whose shared commitment to Copley has spanned more than five decades.
We’re delighted to announce that the 2025 award will be presented to Bill and Kay Daniel, a couple whose names are practically synonymous with community spirit.
From the Historical Society to the Heritage Days Committee, from CERT to the Copley Car Show, their fingerprints are on nearly every corner of township life. But perhaps their most enduring contribution came in 2015, when they gathered a small group of neighbors to dream up a new kind of community for older adults. That dream became the Copley Seniors, an active group that continues to offer connection, programming, and purpose to residents 55 and up.
Bill and Kay’s story is one of quiet leadership, generosity, and a love for the place they call home. We hope you’ll join us in celebrating them during the special Spirits of Copley event at Copley Community Park on Saturday, August 2nd, from 7:00–9:30 PM, following the main Heritage Day festivities. It’s an evening of music, mingling, and meaningful recognition—and all funds raised through the sale of Copley’s “spirits” will support the Chamber’s scholarship program, helping to empower the next generation of community leaders.
