There are times in life when the path in front of you doesn’t make sense anymore, so you just have to carve your own.
For Amanda Kostura, founder of Carve Your Own Path, Inc., that realization came after navigating workplace stress, burnout, and professional expectations that simply weren’t sustainable. Eventually, stepping away became less about giving up and more about asking a different question:
What if there were a better way?
That question became the beginning of Carve Your Own Path, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2018 right here in Copley with a mission to make mental health and well-being more accessible, inclusive, and rooted in genuine human connection.
The organization takes an evidence-based, trauma-informed approach to mental health and wellness, combining counseling and education with holistic practices such as restorative yoga, sound baths, somatic techniques, and expressive arts. At the heart of it all is a simple belief: people deserve care that meets them where they are.
And right now, they’re getting ready for one of the biggest nights on their calendar!
On Friday, November 6th, Carve Your Own Path will host its Fifth Annual Carving the Future fundraiser and celebration from 6:00 – 9:00 at 1840 Manor House.
The evening will feature dinner, live music and story-telling by Chrissy Strong, a celebration of the organization’s impact, and a raffle with a goal of raising $10,000 to help maintain and expand its accessible mental health and wellness services.
Local businesses and community members can get involved through event sponsorships or by donating a raffle item or basket. Sponsorships and raffle contributions are being accepted through September 30th.

And there are plenty of ways to support Carve Your Own Path beyond the fundraiser!
Monthly donations help keep services accessible, while attending wellness workshops, professional development opportunities, and community programs helps sustain the organization’s sliding fee scale.
Of course, community leaders can also get involved by serving on the Board of Directors! Carve Your Own Path is especially interested in connecting with people who have experience in mental health or healthcare, financial services, development and fundraising, or marketing and public relations.
In 2025, community support helped the organization provide hundreds of counseling sessions, including care for clients using its sliding fee scale, while also providing social work training and internship opportunities for the next generation of mental health professionals.
Back in 2018, Amanda asked herself if there was a better way, and she found her answer.
And now, through Carve Your Own Path, she’s helping other people find theirs.
