I may have said this once or ten times before, but one of my favorite things about my job is making friends with all sorts of neighbors in every corner of the township and beyond.
And Erin Schlarb, founder of Hemlock Strategy + Design, is just one such neighbor! In fact, she and her family have lived in Copley for 19 years. “While neither my husband Matt nor I grew up here, we were drawn to Copley because of its peaceful neighborhoods and great access to everything we need. It’s been a wonderful place to raise our family!”
Then, when Erin launched Hemlock in 2021, Copley became more than just her family’s home – it became the perfect place to build her business.
She’s turned her passion for web design and digital strategy into a thriving business that serves clients across the country, while still keeping a special focus on supporting her local community. From helping fellow Copley entrepreneurs build beautiful, functional websites to volunteering her time and talent with local nonprofits, Erin is deeply invested in helping others succeed
“I believe that a strong online presence isn’t just about a beautiful website – it’s about helping business owners connect with their customers in a meaningful way,” she explains. And she means it – taking time to guide clients through the tech side of things in a way that’s approachable and empowering.
It’s not surprising that her favorite thing about Copley (aside from the tantalizing aroma of Cardinal Cakes and Coffee, her morning drive past Loyal Oak Golf Course, or walks through Copley Community Park) is the deep sense of connection and support. “I love how people here look out for each other and are always willing to lend a helping hand.”
As she continues to grow her business from her new office around the corner in Fairlawn, Erin remains passionate about supporting small businesses, especially those right here in Copley.
