Well, goodness, those torrential downpours do have a way of popping up out of nowhere, don’t they? And on Saturday afternoon, they popped up at least three or four times, doing their best to try to dampen our Heritage Day fun.
However, I’m happy to report that the skies finally cleared and the event persevered!
In the end, we had an absolutely lovely evening for the Spirits of Copley. Our heartfelt congratulations once again to Jim Borchik for receiving the Paul Janos Community Impact Award for his years of service to the kids and families of Copley-Fairlawn City Schools, and our equally heartfelt thanks to Superintendent Aimee Kirsch for joining us to present the award to him.
We would also like to take a moment to thank all of those who had a hand in creating four amazing days of community celebration, whether that hand counted minutes or hours in service of the cause.
Mountains are moved and hundreds of hours are worked by the volunteers of this committee every year in order to create memorable moments for friends and neighbors. If you would like to join them, they could use a few more of those hands pitching in!
The first planning meeting for Heritage Day 2025 will be in October – please keep your eyes open for that listing in the Happenings and consider yourself invited to attend.
And maybe next year, we’ll be thanking you, too!
